P-5 VCVe prepared passages?

The intervention manual mentions that there are "prepared passages" for the P-5 Phonics VCVe can be found under the Tools tab at presscommunity.org.  I do not see them there.  Are they found on a different part of the website?

Thank you,

Hi Cameon,

We provide prepared word lists for the phonics interventions underneath the TOOLS tab. The prepared passages referenced in P-5 are explained more in-depth underneath step 1 in the protocol: "Prepare a passage of five or six sentences at the students' general reading level containing at least four instances of the targeted phonics pattern."

PRESS does not provide reading passages, but there are connected text passages available online that would support students in their generalized practice. One website that has been used by some is http://www.progressivephonics.com/. This website contains various word lists and short passages for students to practice reading the various decodable words in text. Some users have written short paragraphs or sentences to apply the words in text.

Another option is to type connected text resources in the search bar provided in the top right hand corner of this webpage; here you will locate ideas that other PRESS users have incorporated when using generalized text reading with the phonics word lists.

The Discussions Forum is a space for all PRESS users, premium and free, to post questions to the community as a whole. As a Premium User, you are able to access coaching and support from a PRESS Literacy Specialist. In the future, if you would like a PRESS Literacy Specialist to respond to your post, please use the orange ASK A COACH button and one of our PRESS Literacy Specialists can provide you specific support and coaching. Thank you,
