In 2010, the Minnesota Center for Reading Research partnered with Minnesota Reading Corps and the Target Corporation to develop the PRESS pilot, a three-year initiative to enhance research-based instructional practices in K-3rd grade reading at six Minneapolis schools (public and charter). After completing the development pilot in 2014, PRESS leaders began offering resources and professional development to schools and districts across the Midwest. Our materials have been put into practice by schools throughout the United States and Canada.
