We would suggest using a fresh copy of the Decoding Inventory to get the most up-to-date information on the student possible. If it was used as intended (only for initial placement) it is unlikely they will have memorized any of the words, so you will likely still get an accurate result, even though it's the same assessment.
If a student was given a decoding inventory in a previous year and are flagged again on a CBM do you give them another DI or use the one from th year before?
