This comment is super old, but I really like this intervention, so I'm going to respond!
First, a caveat: I've found the most success with this intervention for students who are accurate but need to work on picking up the pace. It is not appropriate for every student who needs a fluency intervention.
That being said, I have seen students experience a lot of success with it! I have seen success using this with running text for 2nd-5th, sight words with 1st grade, and even letter sounds for Kindergarten. It seems so strange, but it really does build that automaticity!
Just my two cents!
I would like to hear of others' experience with this intervention. I am having a hard time embracing it - it seems to go against everything I believe about literacy. Can anyone speak to success with this intervention? Thank you!
