1. About how many minutes should a teacher do a fluency intervention each day? How many days of the week?
2. About how many minutes should a teacher do a comprehension intervention each day? How many days of the week?
We have many students who need fluency and/or comprehension interventions. Our "go tos" are Repeated Reading and Partner Reading, but those are not always well received, students get bored with them over time, or they aren't making progress. I am aware of a few other options that we haven't tried yet, but would like to hear from others what they are finding to be successful, well received interventions, particularly with older students.
Hello!
My questions are similar to Cathy's as we are currently supporting some of the same work.
1. We are looking for additional ideas for comprehension interventions. We often use repeated reading and partner reading. What are some comprehension interventions that others have used? Also, any thoughts on how to go about progress monitoring comprehension? For those who use FastBridge, it does have a comprehension component. We have noticed that most of those questions are recall based. Is that sufficient for this purpose? Curious to learn more about what other people use.
2. At our last on-campus session, It was mentioned that you are able to assign a student two levels within the fluency progress monitoring of FastBridge. I know that isn't PRESS, but it would be great if we could learn more about how to set that up.
When are sight words assessed or taken into account when discussing fluency?

As we approach our second online learning opportunity, we would like to gather some information from you. Please respond to this post with 1 or 2 common questions that you often get from teachers, or that you have come up with yourself. We will do our best to organize the session around some of the common questions.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you online on February 11th from 12PM-2PM.
Please respond as soon as you are able.
