Also in the classroom today and have been asked my admin. about this. I would like an update at your earliest convenience.
Hello!
Thank you for reaching out. This is an unprecedented time, and we are working hard to support you in these changing conditions!
At this time, anyone who creates a free PRESS account should be able to access the intervention videos and materials. This might be helpful for teachers to consider sharing with parents depending on what your distance teaching model looks like. Those can all be found underneath the TOOLS tab.
Additionally, a faculty member here at the University of Minnesota located this resource that might be helpful at this time: http://amazingeducationalresources.com/
Please stay tuned, and feel free to reach out with specific questions. We are all still available via the website, and hope that this is enough to get you started! Take care and stay healthy,
The PRESS Literacy Specialist Team
Do you have any updates, ideas, or resources on how to implement PRESS targeted interventions in distance learning? I viewed the resource link above.
Hello Melissa,
Thanks for getting in touch again. We created some demonstration videos for some of the interventions including a couple of phonemic awareness lessons, three different phonics lessons, and a vocabulary lesson. There are also some PPT templates you can download and adapt as you see fit. These links should be live any day now and I will let you know the moment they go live!
We are also creating brief info-graphics for teachers to share with parents. These info-graphics are aimed at parents who have had children in interventions at school and give ideas about how they can support their students while at home. These will be live soon as well and we will notify people when they are available.
Please let us know what other resources you might need to keep up with your students!
Thanks for you work!
Kristin
Has PRESS put together anything that Reading Interventionists can send home on a weekly basis during this time of school closures? If so, where can we find it? If not, are there plans to come up with something for distance learning?
