Vowel Teams

I have been using the vowel team skill for the first time. I was surprised that the only word list for /ie/ is one for variant vowel team (chief, thief, belief). Within this list is the word sieves. I am not familiar with a word for this spelling that follows this pattern, unless it is supposed to be a nonsense word. In the vowel teams there is no list for the long sound of the /ie/ (die, lie) yet it is included in the assessment.

In the assessment for vowel teams VT3,8 the word quiet is used. This is not a vowel team example. In VT4, 10 diet is used. Quiet and Diet are both multisyllabic words that do not follow the pattern.

Thank you so much for this feedback Wendy! We will make adjustments in our next edition. For now, eliminate words that you don't see representative to the target sounds.
