Creating a Community of Readers: Motivating and Engaging Students within an RtI Framework

Presented by Andrew Rummel, Educator, University of Minnesota

Teachers work to create communities of readers in their classrooms. Traditionally, this community is developed through getting students excited about reading and matching them with books. However, research on the motivation to read and engagement in reading highlights important principles that impact how schools can best serve students. These principles impact both quality core instruction and the ways that interventions are implemented with young readers. This webinar focuses on how teachers can develop a community of readers within an RtI framework.
